Title: The impact of the economic crisis (2008-2013) on the profile of new self-employed workers according to their nationality: an approximation from the 
	continuous sample of working lives
Abstract: Durante los últimos años el autoempleo ha ido ganando fuerza como elemento generador de empleo en la Unión Europea, pasando de ser una solución al 
	paro, a estar vinculando a proyectos empresariales dinámicos, innovadores y generadores de puestos de trabajo. El autoempleo puede considerarse como 
	uno de los indicadores relevantes de emprendimiento, de ahí que el análisis de sus características y su evolución en relación con el ciclo económico 
	en nuestro país sea tan importante. En múltiples ocasiones, el autónomo constituye el germen del emprendimiento. Desde finales del 2008 la economía 
	española fue testigo del dramático deterioro de todos los indicadores económicos. Se pasó de un escenario donde tan solo unos meses antes los datos 
	de inversión y consumo de las economías parecían reflejar una situación feliz, a una recesión de dimensiones próximas a la de 1929. Las consecuencias 
	se han dejado sentir tanto en los trabajadores por cuenta ajena como en aquellos por cuenta propia. El objetivo principal de esta investigación es 
	contrastar la hipótesis de que la crisis económica ha venido acompañada de cambios relevantes en el perfil del nuevo autónomo en España en el periodo 
	comprendido entre 2008 y 2013.
	En segundo lugar, se pone de manifiesto el impacto que tuvo para las distintas nacionalidades que configuraban el colectivo de nuevos autónomos. Para 
	realizar este análisis se ha empleado, como fuente fundamental, aunque no exclusiva, la información contenida en la Muestra Continua de Vidas Laborales 
	(MCVL) de los años 2008 y 2013, que se corresponden con el último año del periodo expansivo y recesivo respectivamente.
Abstract: During the last decades, self-employment has been gaining strength as a job-generating element in the European Union, moving from representing a 
	solution to unemployment, to be linked to dynamic, innovative and job generators business projects. Self-employment can be considered as one of the 
	relevant indicators of entrepreneurship, hence the analysis of its characteristics and its evolution in relation to the economic cycle in our country 
	is so important. On multiple occasions, the self-employed are the seed of entrepreneurship. Since the end of 2008, the Spanish economy witnessed the 
	dramatic deterioration of all economic indicators. It went from a scenario where only a few months before the investment and consumption data of the 
	economies seemed to reflect a happy situation, to a recession of dimensions close to that of 1929. The consequences have been felt so much in the 
	employed as in those self-employed. The main objective of this research is to contrast the hypothesis that the economic crisis has been accompanied 
	by significant changes in the profile of the new self-employed in Spain in the period between 2008 and 2013. Secondly, it analyzes the impact for the 
	self-employees according to the different nationalities. To carry out this analysis, it has been used mainly -although not exclusively- the information 
	contained in the Continuous Sample of Labor Lives (MCVL) for 2008 and 2013, which correspond to the last year of the expansionary and recessive period.
