Title: The role of the chinese IED in Latin America and the Caribbean: Cooperation South-South?
Abstract: Históricamente las relaciones comerciales y financieras sino-latinoamericanas han sido muy reducidas. Sin embargo, el reciente 
	resurgimiento de la economía china ha significado el fortalecimiento y ampliación de sus relaciones económicas con el resto del mundo. En 
	este sentido, la región latinoamericana y caribeña ha constituido una pieza importante de este proceso, en el cual tanto los aspectos 
	económicos como políticos han jugado y juegan un papel relevante.
	El foco de análisis a lo largo de este estudio son los flujos de inversión extranjera directa (IED) de origen chino que han arribado al 
	continente latinoamericano y caribeño desde 2000 hasta 2016. Así, la pregunta que se plantea en el presente estudio es si estas 
	vinculaciones pueden categorizarse como cooperación Sur-Sur o relaciones centro-periferia.
Abstract: Historically, Sino-Latin American trade and financial relations have been very limited. However, the recent resurgence of the Chinese 
	economy has meant the strengthening and expansion of its economic relations with the rest of the world. In this sense, the Latin American 
	and Caribbean region have constituted an important piece of this process, in which the economic aspects but also the politicians have 
	played and play a relevant role.
 The focus of the analysis throughout this study is placed on foreign direct investment flows of Chinese 
	origin that have arrived in the Latin American and Caribbean continent from 2000 to 2016. Thus, the question that arises in the present 
	study is whether these linkages can be categorized as South-South cooperation or center-periphery relations.
