Abstract: La República Argentina se ha convertido en el país que ha tenido que enfrentar el mayor número de demandas ante el CIADI. En este artículo se pretende analizar en 
	base a la historia económica argentina reciente cuáles han sido los determinantes que desembocaron en una ola de demandas sin precedentes a partir de 2002. En el 
	análisis se recurrirá a tres elementos que se consideran clave, tanto por sus particularidades propias como por su interrelación: la intensa etapa de privatizaciones 
	iniciada en los 90, los Tratados Bilaterales de Inversión firmados con los principales países inversores y el régimen de convertibilidad.
Abstract: The Republic of Argentina has become the country with the highest number of claims made against it under the ICSID. This article attempts to analyze Argentina’s 
	recent economic history which has resulted in unprecedented levels of claims made against it since 2002. This analysis draws upon three key elements which are 
	considered not only relevant for their specific characteristics, as well as in the way they relate to each other: the intense privatization initiated in the 90s, the 
	Bilateral Investment Treaties signed with major investor countries and the currency board.
